I hadn't read this guy but when I was searching for information about the award Riverbend had been nominated, I found this site http://www.lettre-ulysses-award.org/authors05.html and the quote was on this page.

Hey w-w, thanks for the comment on my blog leading me back here (and to Imperium). Google tells me he's a Polish journalist and writer..long list of tempting books - and lots of artcles in magazine called Granta (know it?) which also looks cool (and is new to me. www.granta.com)
I'm tempted to search out the book too ... although I have 2 of Robert Fisk's on my 'must buy' list. I often enjoy books by journalists and have been reading 'The Kindness of Strangers' by Kate Adie of late.
Granta ... yes, I used to buy them back in NZ, wanting a taste of other worlds.
