I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. Murat Kurnaz
In January 2006 Der Spiegel ran the story of Murat Kurnaz, a young man who was wrongly incarcerated in Guantanamo and who is still there today, more than 4 years later, and as der Spiegel writes it, he is clearly the victim of the foolish games some governments play. Der Spiegel's follow-up today writes of people finally beginning to wonder if Guantanamo is guilty of creating the enemy it imagined it was imprisoning ...
