I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.

Riverbend's Latest Update from Iraq
Sometimes it's better to read how it is from someone who is living there ... and so it is when you read of Iraq.
I've very much enjoyed reading through some of your blog...and found the Baghdad blog compulsive reading too. Other peoples' lives can make our own concerns seem trivial. And the trivial and the traumatic can be so intertwined.
Thanks lettuce! :) You'll probably enjoy the Global Voices site then ... I loved reading what the people are actually saying ... as opposed to this newspaper leaning this way or that newspaper leaning that way ... just people, not politicians ... it's more honest.
