I just realised that 3 of my favourite songs begin with the sound of heavy rain ...
Paul Kelly and his 'Midnight Rain' (which I have never found on youtube.)
Seal and Love's Divine .
Luka Bloom and Monsoon
Oddly enough, my favourite poem is Hone Tuwhare's 'Rain'.
I didn't realise I had a list of favourites based on rain till I was loading my mp3 player tonight and put all the old and new favourites together at the top of the playlist.

awww man. That's got to be illegal. You can't title a post "Stuff you don't need to know about me" and then name your favorite songs... that's like a bar putting up a sign for Free Drinks only to walk inside and find out that's the name of the band playing there that night... wait, that's not a bad idea...
Well ... she writes, trying to think her way out of the corner, it wasn't important but I wanted to post it but I knew I would quite possibly be mocked for my taste so ... disclaimer title.
Kind of like 'I know, I know' ...
Growing up amongst mocking people made me see all possible mocking angles and then suffer through the compulsion to do it or say it anyway.
Sigh ...
Your band idea ... how clever (and odd lol) are you then??
This posts has about as much use as tits on a bull.
Did I use it right? :D
If you like rain so much, you should love Belgium, nay? Or maybe Norway is more your thing, I heard they got a place there where it rains every two days. So, ask Gert if he wants to move to Norway.
Lol, maybe for you Manic but I use this as a journal to note things down in and this was recordable.
And yes, you used it correctly.
Norway ... why would I go to some other troubled European country when I can just go home to NZ once Gert's kids are old enough to either come or stay behind and visit?
Okay, in the interim. Maybe France, Spain or Italy but colder ... no thank you.
You plonker :)
Counting Crows has a great song called "I am the Rain King."
The Rain King - must look. It seems to be songs that begin with the sound of heavy rain falling, or a thunder storm.
well Di, I guess you've ended up in the right country after all :)
Occasionally but I do miss a good Fiordland downpour, Mlle. You have to experience them to believe them.
I like Nick Cave's "To be by your side" as it has geese in it. OK it's a little cheesy but I still like it. And I like Stina Nordenstam's "Ask the mountains" as it has insects in it (did I send this to you?).
'Ask the mountains' - yes, you sent it to me :) Must look up the Cave song.
Now I'm researching sea sounds and rain. I'm needing them both so badly in my city life.
