And then there was this view from the public walkway out at Nervi.
It was so very good to see this kind of sea again. It reminded me of the New Zealand coastline near Nelson ... enough to tear up but whether that was homesickness or the pure joy of being next to the sea, who knows.
I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.

Holy carp that's pretty!!!!!!
Great photo!
Makes me want to come over again and show you other places!
Tis, isn't it, Gary. It took my breath.
Oh do come back Paola, and I promise to diligently study and use Italiano :)
These are the stunning images I vaguely recall having seen as a child in Italy Di, on vacation with my parents.
From Genova all the way down to the Amalfi coast near Napoli: I may well have been at so many place, but I was real small and I should check with my elderly parents.
Somehow I never returned (well, not speaking Italian was only part of the reason),
but your photos really make me feel all dreamy, (very) very young and back in Italy with my parents as an infant.
Thanks for making me remember these images - I'm really pleased watching all your shots from what must be a great time in Italy
(Try not to come home too fast: Antwerp, Belgium: 10C/50F with night frost in some places)
Wow, that is a stunning photo. Genova looks so intriguing. You have put it high on my list of European places I would like to explore next year.
It's a pleasure, Peter ;)
I love it here, Lydia and would recommend to anyone in a flash.
Can this place really be as beautiful as this picture suggests?! I imagine the blood pressure drops the moment you set foot in this park.
RD, that place is more beautiful than this photograph tells you. My blood pressure dropped and my eyes filled with tears when I got my first view. That's how beautiful it is.
I bookmarked your blogspot several months ago and now I know why. Your photos are beautiful! Thanks for sharing your world with us.
Hi blue-eyed blonde, and thank you. Your comment made me smile.
