The chaos ...

My desktop finally reflects my mind ... it's a mess of information, photographs, things that need doing and shining out underneath it all is my desktop image ... Boccadasse and that house in the middle of the storm I photographed in Italy.

My desk is also a disaster really.
I moved the empty ice cream container but the bottle of sparkling water and glass are still competing for space with so many things that it would be silly to list them. I'm printing a 13 page interview I did with a New Zealander whose best rescue happened way back in 1927 and Raf's interview is almost ready to send.

You see, I'm scrambling to put together the interviews, photographs and blog posts so the web designer can finish the new website this weekend ... at least, the functioning side of it. It's not ready to be launched but I'm getting there ... just needing to grow a few extra arms and develop an organised mind.

I'm also waiting to hear if funding has been approved for a job that would take me into the Middle East. It would be Cairo in December, then East Jerusalem and on through the other places I've mentioned previously - Beirut, Tehran, Istanbul and Dubai.

Okay ... back to the mess that is me being organised.

Could you check if you need a personal assistant to accompany you on your Middle Eastern endeavors, coz like I could make time for that :D

Well, I would just be the camera kid so I don't need a PA but dank u wel for the offer.

Anyway, as yet it's just not concrete, it's just more of a 'fingers crossed for luck' moment :)

I do need a PA to sweep into my life and organise my 'stuff' though. My 'to-do' list is terrifying at the moment.

I'll cross my finger Di! hope you get the job! :)
One more to do thing to your list is - visiting Hasselt one day ;-)

Dank u wel, Tine and you do have the best ideas.

I'll note that down as something I would like to do before Christmas :)

Your busy desk is just a reflection of your rich, full life! Much to see and do! Who's got time to deal with the clutter?! Wish you well in your current and yet to be projects.

don't you need someone to write theme music for your middle east excursion? ;-)

Thanks Michelle :) Oh, it's such a mess at this minute, more of a drowning in things that need done feeling. I'm hoping Saturday is a new day, I already Friday is a wash-out.

You guys put such a beautiful spin on it RD, thank you! I just need to calm down a little probably but lord I could do with someone to dig me out of this.

Thank you for your good wishes, they do make me smile xo

Oh Van ... but I guess that would mean you would need to come too? ;) If you creating music from my today it would be all discordant notes and oppressiveness. Sigh ... I shouldn't have replied to these comments at this point in my day ... it seems to be the low point.

Somehow, the trill of it all must be fascinating Di.

Cairo, East Jerusalem, Beirut, Tehran, Istanbul and Dubai are obviously wondrous places to visit, but what would make it real special are the amazing local people you'd meet.

I visited Egypt twice, once diving on a ship wreck near the Saudi Arabian coast, but
I was still only a tourist,
not someone on an exciting mission in the Middle East.

Best of luck!

Thanks Peter. I probably shouldn't have blogged about it but I bounced in so full of it all after Berlin. It's entirely dependent on funding approval and has been for a few months, so let's see how it goes :)

Bah, being tidy is for those who haven't got better things to do with their time....at least that's what I tell myself as I'm eyeball high in clutter!

Fingers crossed for you, that trip sounds like it would be amazing x

Thanks Kat, I hope to know soon :)

And thank you for the solidarity on the clutter but it was making me insane. I dream of an office space ... like everyone else probably xo

Your "tune" is interesting indeed :)

My desktop and desk look like or worse than yours. Plus, beside my desk on the floor sits a cardboard box full of stuff I removed from the top of my desk last month fully believing that it would serve as impetus for full-fledged organizing. I have even begun a second blog basically about clutter searching for inspiration. All in all, I have no excuse because my life is tame and boring compared to yours. Which is one reason why I'd prefer to read your blog than look at my junk!
G'luck on that amazing-sounding job.

You do know that being untidy is a sign of intelligence, yes really.

You also know that I have first dibs on being your personal assistant. After all I am easy to travel with, don't mind sharing a bed and the odd vino :)

That quote, Mark, is why you are one of my favourite people in the world!!!

Oh Lydia, I was feeling so blah about the mess and the to do list, and then reading of your cardboard box and your plan just made me smile. You're very kind. xo

Well Julie, you are in the top 5, okay? ;) it was the vino comment that did it.
