One should really use the camera as though tomorrow you'd be stricken blind. To live a visual life is an enormous undertaking, practically unattainable. I've only touched it, just touched it.
Dorothea Lange 1895-1965.
Grazie, Tara.
I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.

It all looks so gorgeous! Am glad you're having a wonderful time. We're waiting on the edge of our seats for election results. Dare I say, despite all the voting glitches and problems at the polls, it's looking hopeful for a President Obama. xo

I'm just home (24 hours) and on the edge of my seat too, Tara. Jessie's thinking she'll stay up tonight.
Fingers crossed for President Obama here xo
Champagne is flowing in our house in celebration of Barack Obama.
Thank you Di, for your supportive political posts last month!
California
It's happened, Di! We are rejoicing! It's been a great day.
Oh California, it was such good news to wake up to here in Europe. Even Gert's 13 year old daughter was delighted.
And I'm sure people like you made the difference RD - getting out there and making sure people thought about Barack. Congratulations!!
again, no photographer here... but i have really been enjoying all the sunlight and water in motion photos you've posted from your sojourn to Italy.
I'm making an office in my bedroom in the days ahead, Van and I'm hoping enlarged prints of some of those photographs will be a sanity-saver during this Belgian winter. I've also located a pair of real window shutters and am thinking of hanging a pair of them on the wall facing the bed, with them framing a beautiful 'view'. If it all works, maybe I'll post a photograph :)
Beautiful quote....and BEAUTIFUL shot!
Today has been the most wonderful day with Obama's win. I've heard the word "serenity" used by commentators to describe both him and Michelle. Interesting, because that's what I feel filled with today.
Thanks Lydia and yes, as soon as I read it on Tara's blog, I knew I just had to borrow it :)
And yes, the Obama win, I'm delighted too.
