I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.
Awwww, what a cutie! I was always in smocked dresses when I was a child. I don't see that many kids with them any more. Is smocking still alive and well in Europe and New Zealand? I hope so! Beautiful picture!
Only a bond of innocence such as this can relate to the inanimate with all the love of the living. And this picture captures the innocence very nicely. Lovely indeed.

This is beautiful isn't it? I reckon I could write a poem about this somehow ...
I enjoyed photographing her but this was towards the end of the session and she had had enough.
It ended up being one of my favourite shots.
Good luck with the poem :)

I don't know if smocking has survived or not :)
My daughter had a few smocked dresses but they were lovely hand-me-downs from her older cousins.

Thank you Anil. She was the sweetest little demon of busy-ness ... this was her winding down at the end of the session.
