And the angels laughed ...

Life has been a bit of a challenge lately ...

I posted about using Clare's Canon EOS 350D and that because of this I had discovered I wanted one more than I've ever wanted anything in my life.

Since then I have discovered that almost everyone in the world has one already. I know children exaggerate and tell their parents 'but everyone else has one' however I am adult and it's simply true ... so many people I know and people I don't know, have Canon EOS 350D digital cameras. If they don't, they tell me that they're thinking of buying one. See!

Not only that but they want to tell me about them. For example, I would happily settle for a Canon EOS 300D, an earlier model. I was chatting with Peter on Skype yesterday and we've talked of photography over the years, he had no reason to suspect that now wasn't a good time to tell me that he had given his daughter his Canon EOS 300D and he was really loving his fantastic new Nikon digital ...

And so it goes ... the still-in-process (now for-a-work-visa) immigrant is having delusions of digital cameras after ONE YEAR of not working.

I shall go crazy.

You could pretend to be a sliced lemon - and when you find a lake of gin and tonic, you could spend your time jumping in and out of said lake. Technically, the lake would only have to think it was gin and tonic tho...
I love this game called insanity :)

Psssst. DON'T try EOS 5D.. It's not worth the "wanna have, must have, I will kill to have.." life afterwards. A friend of mine let me try one this afternoon and I spent too much time having fun on my employees expense. ..and was left wanting more!

Too expensive for me though.. :(

Hang in there Di, I enjoy your blog way to much for u to go crazy.
I'll commiserate with you on being in limbo :you waiting for your work permit and I have to wait another year to start my own company. If and when and as if are the beginnings of many a project , still to be realised. The first thing I'll buy ,when able to deduct, is that camera. What will you do with your first paycheck?

I laughed when I read your suggestion, Mark ...

I've never pretended to be a sliced lemon swimming in a lake of gin and tonic before.

I'm wondering though ... could I pretend to be the mysterious self-emptying red wine glass?

If one is going to play 'insanity', one should surely drink something they like.

And I kind of like the idea of being the mysterious self-emptying wine glass, the one where everyone shouts 'Hey, who drank my red wine, I only put it down for a moment!'

It's okay Doberman, I've learned, I'll never try the EOS 5D ...

Poor you, now you to can join the small group of those who don't own the Canon EOS digital of their dreams ;)

Oh Judy, I do commiserate with you needing to wait that year to begin, and yes, so many 'if's, when's and as if's'.

My first paycheque ... I laughed when I read your question. The first paycheque will be turned into a Canon EOS ... what else is there? :)

It's true, there is some kind of fever going 'round.

I have one full time pay check left before reducing to 4/5ths.
So if I'm gonna buy I've gotta buy now.
I'm gonna buy.

When you're working, you'll lack time. Get it now. Sell everything. So much you would enjoy it right now. Live for the moment. Auction all possessions (bar a shirt or two).

Lol, so bad lever ... but you did make me laugh out loud. :)

I guess psychologist isn't a career move you've thought about then?

Di Mackey said...

Yes buy it, you'll never regret it Amanda :)

I had to laugh over 'sell everything' ... when I moved here from Istanbul, my 200euro excess luggage was books.

The pashmina scarves ... must sell the 13 scarves ... do I sound fevered now?
