Cats are a huge part of Istanbul street life and they come in all shapes and sizes, good health and bad but I love seeing them out there, owning the streets and being fed by kind Turkish people. There are dogs too.
This little kitty was comfortably seated on someone's scooter in one of my favourite Istanbul places - Ortakoy, situated almost under the first Europe-to-Asia bridge.
Anyway, if you would like to go into the draw and win two of my prints (your choice but excluding most people shots) then leave your name here in the comments section and we'll have a prize draw Tuesday 21 April.
I'll print the images up to 30x45cm, in glossy or matt and post them to your home, where ever you are in the world.
Off wandering now ... Istanbul city is calling.
I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.

hullo! consider me in, i'll try my luck for one of your pieces of art again.
how exciting it is, when you're travelling. regardless whether it's a place i've been to or not, i really enjoy seeing the world through your eyes. i've dreamt of going to Istanbul for a while and these images makes my dream grow.
Who am I to say ''No, thanks'':)
Please Di count me in, as you know I love your awesome photos. Hope being Istanbulian -that's me- doesn't make me unlucky:)
Seems great that you call the world for your giveaway from the heart of this City. Tks for giving this opportunity to join in.
Yes, Istanbul is calling, sunshine here. Tulips, cute cats, many contrasts. N'joy.
I would love to win one of your prints.

Gotta be one of the best cat portraits ever! Sitting on a scooter? How adorable, really a perfect shot of that wonderful kitten.
Of course you should put my name in the running for your print give-away!
Cheers! Lydia
That would be wonderful - even without the people shots there is an amazing range to choose from
that is an adorable kitty. seen any Turkish Vans? they are big white cats usually with orange tails.
Oh please, I would love to win that kitty print. I am huge cat lover!
I could be a winner!!!!!!
Di, I would love to be considered for your wonderful giveaway!
Me! Me! Me! (Jumping up and down with hand raised in a way that is both annoying and endearing)
I shall be the one who says no thanks purely on the grounds that I already won one of these things and it would seem unfair. I already thanked Di privately, but let me say again that the pictures look absolutely gorgeous in the glory of print.
That's weird. I definitely left a comment on this post earlier today. Toss my name into the hat, please. xo
I'm really loving the photos Di!
Hi kompo Stella, consider your name and everyone elses listed here, in the draw - excluding Giovanni, with his kind words. Grazie.
I don't think I've seen any Turkish Van cats, Van. Will photograph them if I do :)
I don't where your comment got to, Tara, although I did find another comment caught in the back end of the blog yesterday. Yours wasn't there though.
And Mr Wandering Turk, how lovely to find you here. The city is as glorious as ever! :)
v-grrrl stole my line....
Me! Me! Me!
