I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.

And then ...
At 4.13am, there's always Hootie and the Blowfish.

Hi there, fellow insomniac :-)
It must have been around 4AM when I finally fell asleep, amazed how the sticky Antwerp heat (and some well documented medical issues) kept me awake. Unfortunately, this is Belgium: chilly rain is next on the menu.
I'm sure that the Belgian 'permits to stay' for your daughter/granddaughter won't pose any problems.
Picking up a big photography contract for the months ahead sure sounds like a relief after all the hard work you put into voluntary projects.
BTW: thanks for the supportive comments at my blog: it's just great when follow bloggers I only met once offer their support.
It's not about how many times I've met you, it's about the person I find and like on your blog ... we're put in some hours now really :)
Belgian permits ... let's not talk of how that went. I've blogged 'grumpy' ... but it is so very frustrating.
And thank you, you know though ... volunteering for all those projects bought a lot of good people and experiences my way. I don't think I've regretted any of them.
Get well soon with the pain and I have to confess, I'm enjoying the cool rain tonight.

Ha, ha, ha. I was awake at 3 a.m. too but didn't dare turn on the computer. We could have had a virtual "pajama party."
We could have pyjamaed partied :)
