Yes, these nice white flakes are in reality filthy, frozen fog particles.
I grew suspicious as there was no snow predicted, nor visible on any radar…
Living near the Antwerp harbor would have intensified the experience - and that's exactly what's happening.
Air-pollution turned into snow, this really is a first time experience.

Well I guess those who didn't realise will have ... we had a wee snowball fight, I guess it explains the burning eye lol.
Gross huh ... NZ is so damn clean that I really struggle with this pollution thing.

I'd seen the "FOG" warning signs along the highway and noticed the drizzly wet cold, but this was the first time that polluted air particles produced this much snow in Antwerp.
Kind of depressing, realizing that all those frozen "fine toxic dust" particles have become the snow our children are playing in..
Yesterday the smog covered my region entirely. You couldn't see further than 200 meters. Now I know how it feels like to live in Asia's big cities. :(
Sigh, it's horrible guys. Is this stuff even on the politicians agendas here in Belgie? Istanbul was bad but it is a city of about 14 million ...
Even worse, apparently most of this pollution came on the wind from Germany ...

Yes, it's all over the place in Germany and they showed pictures in tonight's weather report on the news. They call it Industrieschnee. Yuk.
Little Miss 3 was telling me she ate some snow at Kindy and for the first time ever, I was horrified over the idea that a kid did the kid thing and ate snow ... sigh.
