It has been strange to go back through my work from Spain and fall in love with the memories all over again.
I love the stone there.
If I had to choose the thing that made me most happy in that beautiful city I would have to reply that it was the stones that were used to build in the old city.
I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.

Spain is so lovely, isn't it.
PS: I rethought my blog, check it out.
I rechecked your blog, welcome back ... like the first impact of arriving there too.
Oh, could you not just spend a life time with the lovely doors and windows of Spain? I was so lost in them that I had to keep reminding myself that people live there. I'm imagining anyone coming here and taking pics of my door, or, egads, my hanging laundry! And yet, it's so magical there you can't help but want to capture every image.
I fell in love with Spain and its buildings. I did have to smile when I imagined tourists photographing my washing but you're right ... but surely we were compelled to photograph the mundane made somehow beautiful over there.
