Today in Belgium ... on the inside looking out through the glass

And we have woken to snow, yet again.

It's bitterly cold outside, there's a wind too. I couldn't help smiling when I read that when New Zealand's most recent heatwave comes to an end, they're looking at a descent into autumn.

Smiling because it means we get spring up here in the north, and I need spring.

Was the traffic just as messed up near your home Di?

Belgium faced 400 km of virtually gridlocked traffic this snowy morning,
but even the downtown Antwerp riverbanks were also hardly moving.

I feel like taking a plane to the sun these winter days.

I didn't step outside, Peter, so I don't know about the traffic. I was so bad that I just took the bamboo shot through the glass ... :)

But let's find a plane someplace warm and run away together for a couple of weeks.

The "let's find a plane someplace warm and run away together for a couple of weeks" part sounded really tempting Di :)

But seriously, I used to take a "we will pamper you", one week all-in vacation package with my partner most winters,
just to escape the cold, soak up the sun in Egypt and return to face the unpredictable Belgian weather.

Oh, I know ... and I'm looking up trains to Genova from Rome, imagining Rome in March, wondering if any of the Middle East work will pop up in the middle of it all.

I need some sun and some warmth too.

And we have snow too - although much of it has melted by nightfall. I took a photo of a plant on my balcony too. :)

Were you as chicken as me about going outside, Tara? I couldn't face it and stayed indoors, it was too terribly cold.
