Thank you for caring.

If we stand by and watch we are also deserting the Israeli people, many of whom are actively working for peace.

Please have a look at this article:
http://www.alternativenews.org/blogs/michael-warschawski/blaming-the-two-sides-worse-than-the-killers-20081230.html

Michael (or Michel) Warschawski is an Israeli journalist, writer, peace activist and founder of the Alternative Information Center (AIC) in Jerusalem, the first joint Israeli-Palestinian organization. His father was the rabbi of Strasbourg. Michel is married to Lea Tsemel, a Jewish human rights lawyer who represents Palestinians.

We are not helping these people if we pretend not to see what is going on.

How can we NOT speak out??!! We all deserve human rights. Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.

Thanks for the link to Alternative News, Carolien. I met so many interesting Israelis when I lived back in New Zealand and even here in Europe, I have Israeli friends I adore but the military and political decision-makers over there sometimes horrify me.

So true, Tara but I'm never sure that people are ready for it.

Thanks Van, as always :)

Brave of you to speak out, and thanks for the links to those posting from Gaza, they have been passed along to friends who care.

My daughter has a friend whose family lives in Gaza and I hurt for him. The situation is so painful and so confusing and as usual, helpless women and children on both sides suffer. I marvel at how religion, inherited enemies and testosterone keep bringing us round to the same old killing ground. But I never thought Northern Ireland would be at peace, so I guess it's possible in the Mideast...but it looks so bleak.
