I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.

We are not helping these people if we pretend not to see what is going on.
Thanks for the link to Alternative News, Carolien. I met so many interesting Israelis when I lived back in New Zealand and even here in Europe, I have Israeli friends I adore but the military and political decision-makers over there sometimes horrify me.
So true, Tara but I'm never sure that people are ready for it.
My daughter has a friend whose family lives in Gaza and I hurt for him. The situation is so painful and so confusing and as usual, helpless women and children on both sides suffer. I marvel at how religion, inherited enemies and testosterone keep bringing us round to the same old killing ground. But I never thought Northern Ireland would be at peace, so I guess it's possible in the Mideast...but it looks so bleak.
