But the best news was ...

It has been a really cold 4 celsius here all day and I was looking for clothes for 25+ celsius. It was a difficult leap to make.

I needed 3 extra 4GB memory cards for my camera, as I'll be shooting raw images in Cairo and then there was the portable photo storage drive that slipped into my bag to be rung up as a business purchase. Much as I don't like travelling without my laptop, the idea of carrying it all over Cairo, along with the photography gear, just didn't appeal ... so I will be laptop-less there.

But the best news of the day was the phone call ...
A sumptuous German magazine (actually, Gert looked and said 'Swiss magazine') wants 8 of my photographs from this series for its next edition. I'll let you know when they're published ...

This guy was unbelievable. I have to find time to update my photography website. I've had some lovely shoots over the last year and no where to really put them ... or no time.

Thanks Van :)

Oh wow! What a shot. His fingers extending from his knuckles merge with the ribs, showing what an all-body experience ecstatic dance really is!

CONGRATS on the mag publication. Eight shots; that's fantastic!

This photo-shoot was the most intensely engrossing experience, Lydia. I was completely absorbed in it and when it came to an end, I was quite disorientated and exhausted.

I'm not at all surprised Di. when will you realize you're a star?

Congratulations! Soon you'll be too famous to talk to the likes of us.

Oh wow, a German magazine. Can't wait until you tell us the name. Is it Der Spiegel? :O

Could a New Zealander ever do the whole 'I'm a star' thing? Isn't it beaten into us in childhood not to think like that, Mark.

But it's less about being a star and more about having the right photographs for the story ;)

Can't imagine it Simon - you and Paola have immense amounts of my respect so I would have to become Queen of the Entire Universe ... but even then, I would pay ridiculous amounts of money to get you guys to help me :)

Der Spiegel ... ummm nope. Wait and see, specially since it might be a Swiss magazine. Gert tells me they speak German there, which I knew but Europe ... it's all so confusing sometimes Manic.
