Oscar Wilde's Mother said ...

I found this quote and filed it away in one of my journals and confess to smiling whenever I read it again.

When you are as old as I, young man, you will know there is only one thing in the world worth living for, and that is sin.
Oscar Wildes mother in her 60's.

Oh, THAT is delicious!! And explains young Oscar just a bit, huh? Sure, later he could get famous by being able to resist anything but temptation, all very nice, but now it turns out he was only paraphrasing his mother!!!

I love this!

Where do you find all these taste treats?!?

I'd say that Oscar was quite an obedient son.

The taste treats ... reading I think, journals and notes made. I can't resist ... I retain by note-take, the blog is my electronic dream come true I guess :)

Sal, I would have to agree. The quote reminded me of my grandma ... although she didn't condone sin, she was this delicious little old lady and my strongest memory of her is the day she smiled, eyes alight with mischief, and told me that even though she was 60 something she 'still felt 16 inside'.

Poor Oscar, one is surely compelled to listen to one's mother ...
