The exhibition is set to evolve - as I was asked if I would continue photographing the brasserie clients because everyone loves it.
Monday I'm photographing one of the waitresses with her family, Tuesday there's the butcher at work.
This brasserie is a delight to hang out in, with people from all walks of life wandering in.
There's the guy from the West Indies, the Croatian archer, the railway employee and the lace-maker.
I'm on a downhill run towards Genova in July ... so much writing to do, so many photographs to be organised.
Flanders Fields in the morning, an out-of-the-blue invitation to go wandering with two Belgian photographers. Shannon is coming along for the ride and we'll hook up with Steven, my much-loved Belgian historian friend.
Tot ziens from those of us avoiding demon drink tonight because ... it's not nice to wake up thinking 'Ik heb haar pijn'.
I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.

Ik heb haar pijn?
Ik heb dat nooit gehoord!
I've heard "Ik heb en kader" (I forget if that's spelled right) or "ik voel me misselijk."
And Genova? I don't suppose you need a gimpy one armed assistant to help carry film or something?
It's Antwerp dialect for the whole I have a hangover thing. I can actually say it relatively correctly too which is a bonus.
Genova ... I feel guilty now.
Hey my American friend living in the Netherlands is staying and she's volunteering for an NGO in Den Haag.
Looks like you're really having fun photographing these people! Can't believe you're going to Genoa again so soon - lucky girl! Am off to London tomorrow, then here for a week before Amsterdam. Maybe we'll catch up in August? xoxox
This is wonderful. Sorry I was there for the setup and not there for the exhibition!
Hi Tara, Genova is the meeting place for a much-loved New Zealand friend who is coming this way for a conference, then Gert is coming over to see why I have fallen so completely in love with that beautiful Italian city, so we'll have a wee summer holiday there. August, I'm still hoping to get to you before then but will talk to you about dates and see what you have left.
You would have loved it, Ms V but copious amounts of wine were accidentally quaffed after the stress of that day was off ;)
