I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.
Thanks Lydia. It's quite disconcerting taking some of the photographs of the bigger cats ... they seem very close and the wall is incredibly low at the zoo.
Um . . . yeah, not sure that's a smile, Di! Looks like a snarl to me, exactly how Husband looks when I touch his lamb chop (literally, not mataphorically).
yup, look at that nose. He's altogether menacingly beautiful. His mane looks like it was brushed for the photo. This is one of the great animal shots!

ReplyDeleteThat's quite alarming. Other zoos have had "issues" with that sort of threat....

It's a wonderful image, Di - although smiling isn't what came to mind. :)
