I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.

An interesting article ...
I have to admit, I had never considered this issue but Slate had an interesting article on aging, dementia and a love affair titled An Affair to Remember.
just read the article and it would have been lovely for them... Why should they not be allowed to be happy while they could.. The former justice of the Supreme Court saw her husband falling in love with another dementia victim and was happy for them both. By the way, your trip sounded wonderful... I was with you every step of the way, seeing it again many times. Anxious to hear all about it! ML

Really interesting Di. Thanks for linking to this.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly, ML - I wish they could have been left to enjoy what they had found. I guess it's difficult if you're the 'kid' though ...
ReplyDeleteML, there's so much I haven't blogged yet, so much you would have loved!
No worries, Mark. I'm working Tuesday but hope to find you on skype Wednesday or Thursday.
