I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.

A New Zealand war veteran visits a Commonwealth War Cemetery
Beautiful photo. Very fitting, at least for me today, as we have had 2 days of miltary jets flying overhead and processions for a local fallen soldier, Matt Maupin. His remains were recently found in Iraq and have made this final trip home. We--peoples on Earth-- apparently learn nothing from war to war, or let me say we learn nothing about peace. Thanks for the beauty you post. AnnieH
Thanks Annie ... and yes, I can only agree. I was talking with someone about war last week and we came to the same conclusion. The mistakes made in WW1 are still being made today.
