And so then ...

I noticed a strange burning smell not long after Jessie put the eggs on to boil while we finished putting the bookcase back together and just getting that end of the lounge clean.

I finished writing a sentence and looked round ... ahhh, the oven-glove and the tea towel were burning but of course.

  1. You set the apartment ablaze? Geez, and just earlier you were complaining life in Belgium was dull. Guess this country has an evil grudge.

  2. She did actually, Meneer Manic. She's fighting off yet another northern hemisphere flu, so we'll let her off this time.

Nooooooooooo, the country's okay with me.

  3. E and I almost burnt an historic inn in Virginia down on one of our anniversaries. We'd had a bit of wine to drink and when unfolding the linen napkin covering the bread basket, we let it fall over the votive candle on the table.

Very romantic eating dinner by the glow of a flaming napkin....

  4. Less stinky than burning oven mitt and tea towel too, I imagine.

My cousin once burnt down a pub on New Zealand's wild South Island West Coast. It was a marvellous story!

  5. Isn't she always fighting off something? In the time I've known Jessica, I don't think she's ever not been a little unwell with something :(

  8. I've done this more times than I care to admit. :(

Once my s/o and I went to Moosehead Lake and stayed in this wonderful log cabin. I put the luggage against the heater. We woke up to the sound of smoke alarms and a scent of melting plastic that to this day I won't soon forget.

  9. Mmm, you're right Jon but she stays up so very late. That never helps.

Yes, we were looking for ambience, furiousball.

America, Lut? Curious I am :)

Good that you woke Claudia, it must have been a horrible way to wake!
