Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
Marianne Williamson
I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.
I love that dog!
ReplyDeleteHe was so very cool. I met him recently and he's kind of this cool teenager ... big and stunningly bulky but kind of shy :)
ReplyDeleteI love the dog too. He looks like he has PMS and is completely unwilling to apologize for his attitude.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I think you've had this quote before and it bears repeating, and repeating, and repeating.
As the charm on the bracelet says, "Believe"
The charm bracelet went to the European Parliament on Tuesday ... somedays a prompt is a required :)
ReplyDelete:-) I AM perfect, now if I could just convince the rest of the world of that fact.

The dog is, isn't it Ascender. I actually stopped its owner in the street and asked if I might photograph it. I'm glad that I did.
