    The French have a way of turning very classic daily phrases into a work of art.

    Notice how the sign (to be honest, I'm not even sure it is a sign) says "mes savons": it sounds like the soap was handmade by the one presenting the gift. The link to the perishable flowers makes it a classic.

  2. A sign it is, and I loved it too ... once Gert translated it and then I had to photograph it.

    The 'free' translation:
    'I have bought you soap because flowers perish and my soaps smell just as nice.'
