Ding Dong

'Ding dong' is 'thank you' according to little Miss Three.

We don't know why.

'Okay' is 'otay' which is simpler.
She just doesn't do the c or k sound.

Still, it's really sad that sometimes we find ourselves saying 'otay' and 'ding dong' when really, we know better.

  1. You need to work hard on her language skills, okay. Because they are vital in the world today.

  2. Indeed we do but she was just 'getting' English when we threw her into immersion Dutch kindy. She must be feeling so ripped off ... even her 1,2,3 has become something else.

  3. You have to keep the two languages seperate. You guys can't talk Dutch with her, she can only talk Dutch at school. Try doing some research on bilingual education, it could help. It won't be easy, but the more time you spend on it now, the better for her in the future.

  4. It's okay, only Gert is speaking Dutch to her at home ... as you know, I suck at Dutch speaking, sigh.

And Gert's kids are coming mid-week to work on kindy songs with her.
