Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously
give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.

Absolutely. I love this. Funny how so many of us fear success more than we fear failure. Must go analyze myself. :-)

Women are masters of trying not too shine too brightly.

I love this: "There is noting enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you."

Lol, you need to come to Antwerp for a session of the wine cure with v-grrrl and I one day soon.

It's brilliant, isn't it.

Back where I came from, v-grrrl, it is very desirous that a woman does shrink so that those around us don't feel insecure.

I often laugh over this heightened sensitivity to womens rights in Islam, it wasn't particularly superb growing up in male-dominated New Zealand where even the other women preferred no one shone.

I posted it for two deeply shiny friends back in NZ who were under attack by a few nasties who couldn't forgive one of them for not being smaller. We have to remember not to accept that from others. They always try growth :)
