"Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it."

I love this quote ... so frickin' true. Thanks for sharing. Peace, JP/deb
Tis, isn't it. Glad you enjoyed it.
Apparently normal is pretty confused and comic. She's abnormally observant. Wish I were driving to her job, though. In her car. Coming home to her house.
I found some comfort in the quote, goodness knows why. Maybe because divorce altered the course of my comfortable life and somehow I found Ellen's piece comforting ... at least I get to live in and enjoy the house I'm not paying for and etc
When I worked in an office, I remember ranting about my long commute in the dark months where I'd leave home in the dark and get home in the dark. "All this work to pay the mortgage, and I don't even get to see the sun shine on the stupid house!!!!"
Hey v-grrrl, I found myself in similar situations over the years ... it's not nice.
Pure gold. Just pure gold. I still read your blog by the way.
Southern redneck.
G'day mate ;)
