I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.

So today ...
We were thrown off the tram because of this ... and it was raining like I haven't seen since my life in Fiordland, New Zealand.

The interior design store Gifi (and its huge stock) went up in flames at around 12.30pm. The ATLAS building had to be evacuated and like you found out, even public transport near Antwerp Central Station came to a halt. I'm checking out right now who posted this video on YouTube.
Since the rain downpour was really violent, it must have been a most unpleasant exeperience.

Oh my! That looks quite nasty. I guess we'll hear about it on the news tomorrow.
Thanks for the ATV link ... I added it ;)
Oh that rain ... 15 minutes walking in it under a huge umbrella and it had soaked up our trousers as high as our knees.
Do you get Belgian news over there Christina?
Well, not specifically Belgian, but things like that usually get reported on.
I think I was just surprised because I was there ... so how can it become an international news item :)
