I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.
What is it with you an poppies. I never figured out what foreigners had with those flowers anyway. They are just weed which grows alongside the roads. But you do make lovely pictures of it.
Hi ya! Your photos transport Di - you truly have a gift. I love the additional element that your granddaughter has given your photography. The photo of her chubby little legs adorned with the stickers is just so original and precious. And your daughter has her own quiet contribution too - in the background, a coat hanger as part of the picture ... :) Methinks you all make up a special trio.

Lol thanks chiefbiscuit ... Gert is convinced that we are special and that with 3 generations of these particular special kiwi women in his house, he expects all to be broken soon.

Oh manic, you philistine ;)
ReplyDeleteBack home in NZ we have poppy day every year to remember our war dead and raise money for the Returned Services Assoc.
But aesthetically ... occasionally, just occasionally, we find some beautiful stationary with floppy droopy lovely poppies over them.
