Not only did Tara come through after my early breakfast complaint about blogger friends who choose sleep over blogging but Veronica did too in an amusing post titled Blogger thinks I'm Belgian .

I had to laugh, as I've been plagued by Blogger switching my language mode to Dutch automatically and okay, I can read it but I chose English. What I didn't realise was that it might be switching guests blogger settings too ... my humble apologies if it happened to you and you have no Dutch.

If not, then check out v-grrrl's post ...

  1. Nope it's still in Dutch. Damn don't they know that we speak all the languages in the world, they should better put it in Chinese if they want to catch us by surprise.

  2. I mailed the " वन ऑफ़ ठोस पोस्ट्स वेयर दी फील्स सॉरी फ़ॉर हेर्सेल्फ़" caption to a Belgian friend who's working as an expat in India, and indeed, it was Hindi :-) Blogger has been changing the prompts on my pc too: they used to be in English but have been changed to Dutch. Maybe they started to check the location of an IP and give localized prompts.

Like V-grrrl found out, being exposed to another language can be quite funny though ;)

  3. I had noticed the Dutch before on your site. But you being so international and all, I figured that was just your language of the day! :)

  4. Ahem. I meant to comment on your earlier post, when it showed up in Feedblitz.

I chose not sleep, but my Spanish taxes (ugh) and the paperwork for my visa renewal over blogging this morning, then a client meeting, and another unintelligible read of the Spanish tax manual.....

Just for the record, before I get a reputation as a sleeper-inner, you know.

Ah, to have been blogging, or chatting contigo, cariño...

I am convinced Europe tames it citizens through the use of unintelligible bureaocracy and tax codes. Numbs the mind, nothing to do but give in and pay what they ask...

  5. Oh, well actually Gert's brother and father know some Chinese ... those Belgians ;)

Thanks Peter, I was curious. I went searching and I had changed something on my settings ... switched it back as Hindi simply isn't possible for this mono-lingual creature.

Poor v-grrrl, she wrote a good post though ;)

Oh Tara, you have to be teasing me ... my language of the day is always going to be English. It makes me smile just imagining me spending an entire day talking in Turkish or Dutch ... ouch ouch ouch, especially for those who know and have to suffer through hearing me mangle their language.

Ahem w-w, I wrote a retraction. Spanish taxes and visa renewals are serious things. I was just envious really, imagining everyone sleeping while I read and wrote.

'Sleeper-inner' is so cute, just btw.
