I grew up living with nature.
Bare feet were commonplace in summer, the beaches and rivers were places we ate and sunbathed between swimming. Horses, dogs and cats lived on an open-door policy ... an inside pet was unimaginable and my dogs always had some kind of swimming area close by.
The people are some of the friendliest in the world, the air is so clean I almost cry everytime I go home.
What am I doing out here in Europe ...?
You know what, sometimes I really don't know.
Dammit. Now *I* have to sell a kidney.
ReplyDeleteAh, excitement, adventure, love??!! NZ will always be there, even if you're not there now. Don't despair.
ReplyDeletePam ... you know, I hadn't thought of that. I wasn't 'wanting' it enough, was I?
ReplyDeleteLol, yes Tara, you wise woman you.
I found the youtube when I was looking for something else ... and thought 'ahhh yes'.
Had to share.
And why I want to go home *with* you. I was scouting farms for sale in New Zealand five years ago. G won't have it, though. Too little pollution and his lungs go into shock.
ReplyDeleteOkay Lisa :) I'm planning on heading home as soon as I've earned enough money and I'd like that to happen within the next few months ... you can come too.
ReplyDeleteThese European boys ... so attached to their pollution that they can't contemplate moving countries.
It looks way to unspoiled and beautiful to be lived in. And you people look all so sporty, all those sports you do. I got exhausted just watching it. The food bit looked great, though.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, we like our pollution very much, it's ours and you can't have it :d
Is that so, Meneer Manic?
ReplyDeleteWell since I've already ingested so much of this pollution here ... you'd better visit NZ and take back some clean air and hey, you can just sit and watch all the sports :)
Nice video, one thinks made for the tourist trade. Dunedin forecast for Wednesday Rain developing in the morning. Northerly gale, with gusts of 80 km/h in exposed places. Rain easing to showers, and winds turning cold southwesterly by evening.
ReplyDeleteIf you are heading south can you have a stoppover in Sydney this time?
Hey WW. Southern Redneck is finally on the cold continent. Simply bloody amazing.Problems with email but surprise surprise, I can access your site. Off into the wilderness for a three day sleep out then promice to write and send pics. My advise for what it's worth-don't spend your life wishing you were somewhere else. Enjoy what Europe has to offer.
ReplyDeleteLol, thanks Robbie ... oh the memories those very words brought back. But Belgium is so polluted ... I saw all those beaches, Mt Cook and etc ... :)
ReplyDeleteSo Mr Hunter, you've arrived in Antartica ... problems with email uh huh. But anyway, good to read that it superb down there.
Enjoying Europe, wishing for a trip back home ... it's okay, I can do both. Haven't been back in two and a half years ... it's simply too long.
Gorgeous and strikingly similar to B.C. ("Super Natural British Columbia" is their slogan). Except for the Haka, of course. :-)
ReplyDeleteThe things we do for love, eh?
oh I want to go back!@@ Brought back such wonderful memories.. but the only problem with going is that you won;t be there to share it with me again!! What a lovely film!
ReplyDeleteMade me cry. the good news is the kids will soon grow up and off you can all go!
ReplyDeleteYou know what I mean, don't you Amanda ...
ReplyDeleteAnd you're going home soon!! :)
