I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.
Are you getting married? Today? Wow, congratulations, I hope you will become happy with your new man. And you hide it quite nicely, I did not see this coming. I feel like I should buy you a present or something. Hope to see the pictures of the wedding on your blog soon. Where's the honeymoon trip going to go? New Zealand?
Hi manic :) Married at 11.30am, now getting ready for guests - a party of internationals starting at 6pm ... I thought I'd check the blog in the in-between time.
Good news, we have at least 4 Belgians coming - sometimes there's only been 1 ... 2 Dutch, hmmm 2 Americans, 2 Canadians and FOUR kiwis.
I didn't hide it exactly, I just imagined the District Huis people would stop it so didn't mention it till today :)...
And then, imagine this ... Districthuis surprised us with gifts ... 2 coffee mugs and chocolates, with a little wine reception after the ceremony!!!
Oh I am so excited to hear all the details! Had hoped to be there with you but the good old bureacracy!! Best wishes to you both,, I know you will both be so happy and you both deserve it@ love you both@ ML
I think it's simpler if I say a deeply felt thank you to everyone for their congratulations.
It was odd but like manic, who felt he would have liked to participate in some way, I felt there were those from this blogging world that I would have loved to have had at the wedding however we did have a short time to plan due to paperwork and many uncertainties ... who knew if this kiwi would be allowed to marry the Belgium :)
The day was a lovely one ... truly lovely and I'll write of it soon. Photos ... okay, one or two when they are ready.
Thanks for sending your wishes though ... it has made me smile to read them.
