The Canon EOS 350D

My photography has changed or so it seems to me ...

ML surprised me by gifting us my longed-for Canon EOS 350D camera body when she flew in from the States. And so it is that I no longer require a dog or a cat ... I have a camera that carries no film or developing costs; truly sublime.

I've had trouble putting it down, I feel like a kid who wants to take the EOS to bed and wake up with it still in my hand.

Sometimes friends simply surprise me in the most stunning of ways ...
A huge thank you to the woman who has always flown into each of my worlds, packing laughter and kindness into the many suitcases she carries on the back of her world-wandering broomstick.

  2. LOL, well it's true ... all the best women I know would have been burned as witches by some grouchy male in the days when interesting women were burned.

    It's a compliment really :)

  3. Congrats on your new toy/tool. I can see you've been sorely needing one! The pics are remarkable. Discuss, please, what lenses you are carrying around with you.

  4. Thanks Pam.

Well I already had two of the lenses ... a 28-80mm and a 75-300mm from my film-using EOS 300. They fit the digital beautifully and they multiply by 1.6 on the the 350D.

I got an 18-55mm on the camera, just for the wide angle shots.

A happy little bunny I am.

  7. She...bought you an EOS?

    [Speechless]

Don't you ever say another bad thing about the human race.

BTW...the more of your photos that I see, the more I'm convinced that your business is going soar.

  8. Hey Sal :)

    -She...bought you an EOS?
    -She did ...

    -[Speechless]
-Lol, and you're only reading about it without the speechlessness that comes from being the recipient.

-Don't you ever say another bad thing about the human race.
-Well, I think I only say things about humans who work in immigration, district house and the extreme right ... so that's okay, isn't it?

And thanks for the compliment ... fingers crossed that my business works out because there is something so delicious about doing something you love as your work.

  11. Congrats! It's heaven to take photos with a good camera! Your photos are just awesome, old and new.

My art techer always said that the eye behind the camera makes 50%, the subject 30% and skills 20%. You can always compensate the other parts with great skills, but if you don't have the eye for good phot, you could just draw. ;)

And you have the eye, I mean your portraits capture the feeling well.

ML has since been mercilessly stalked by me and my digital EOS ... wicked laughter from the Antwerpen Kiwi.
