I left New Zealand mid-2003, bound for Istanbul and a new lif. After two years, a Belgian guy lured me into his world, deep in the heart of Europe. For a long time I was an in-process immigrant. One day we married. These days it's about photography, a little red wine and wandering ... and so the journey goes.
This composition feels like a strong hug, likely because of your choice of cropping. I especially appreciate the combination of strength and serenity you caught.
I like to take a tightly composed photograph and was devastated when I realised I no longer have my x 1.4 zoom capability on the new camera. Now my big lens is simply 70-200 instead of 280mm. I missed it today.

The cropping works beautifully. What an intimate moment you have captured.
